''Hello, my name is Phionah Kisakye. I am 19 years old, and I am a student at Uganda Christian University pursuing a Bachelor in Law. I come from a humble family. I lost my parents when I was in Senior Two (second year of secondary school). My brother Isaac Mulungi is also a UCTF member - he and I are the only two children. My mother was shot at Garden City Mall in Kampala in 2009. One month later, my father also passed away.
I was then taken on by UCTF. It has played a great role in my life because after the death of my parents, I thought that was the end. I never thought I would reach university but now I'm studying for a Bachelor in Law.
The help of the mentors, hard work and knowing what I want in life, the belief of UCTF staff, and the support provided have all acted as pushing factors for my success today. When I look at where I came from, life has not been easy but through a lot of struggle, I have tried to improve.
I managed to attain 20 points at A-Level at St Lawrence Ssonde, a secondary school near Kampala. This was a great experience and achievement on my side.
I express my appreciation towards UCTF staff and trustees for the great support they have given to me.”
